Olvera Street

Olvera Street is a historical destination in Los Angeles that honors and commemorates the city’s Mexican roots. This holiday season, engage in the traditional Christmas event, Las Posadas. This event is a reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. Complete with colorful songs costumes, traditional songs and vibrant music, the event is a beloved Catholic tradition. LA Zoo Lights

If you’re looking for a family friendly way to experience the holidays, look no further than LA Zoo Lights. Held from now until January 7th, LA Zoo Lights lets guests explore the zoo after hours from 6-10pm. Guests can explore the zoo and enjoy seasonal christmas lights and LED animals such as monkeys as well as other fun light up displays. Each night, you can also see real life reindeer! Santa will be available for pictures on select nights only.

Universal Studios Hollywood

This Holiday Season, Universal Studios Hollywood has a lot in store. Stop by their latest attraction, Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You can enjoy all new holiday meals and drinks as well as beautiful christmas lights throughout Hogsmeade. Stay for the special Christmas Light show taking place at the Hogwarts Castle. Grinchmas will also take over the park on select dates in December. Enjoy photo ops with the Grinch, a 60 foot Christmas tree and fun performances from the citizens of Who-Ville.

Original Farmer’s Market

To get ready for the Christmas spirit, stop by the Original Farmer’s Market for some Holiday fun. Depending on the day, there will be various events scheduled. Start things off on Sunday, December 18th and enjoy the Dickensian Strolling Carolers who will be around from 1-4pm. From 5-7pm, listen to the Nayanna Holley’s Jazz Christmas band as they play classic holiday music. Christmas festivities will take place from December 18-24.

Descanso Gardens

Descanso Gardens is a 150 acres botanical garden in LA that serves as a popular retreat from the busy streets of LA. This holiday season, stop by the gardens for their annual event, Enchanted: Forest of Light. This interactive, nighttime experience will take you through the gardens after dark where you’ll be immersed in beautiful lights and sounds.You’ve never experienced nature like this. Be sure to get your tickets in advance! Enchanted: Forest of Lights runs from now through January 7th.
